Lou Recantou, spring 2011

Lou Recantou, pronounced "loo-ray-can-TOO", means, more or less, "the hidden place around the corner" in Occitan (the old language of southern France, still spoken by most older people in this region).

The single-storey stone house, located around the corner and behind the owners' house (hence the cottage's name) is quiet and virtually secluded. Inside, it is comfortable and convenient.

Some of these and other photographs of the house and the area were taken by our friend Wilf Noordermeer in October 2002. His own website, full of his other wonderful photographs, is at:   http://www.wilf.ca

From Dr. Greg Moran, who stayed in Lou Recantou in March 2001 (and has been back several times since):    "It has been a real privilege to be among the first of what will be a very long list of those who will enjoy this wonderful gîte, in this remarkable place. Lou Recantou is the best possible peaceful base from which to explore, cycle and walk. Thanks for your creativity and care."
