"the best week's vacation we all could have imagined.... your beautiful place has been trouble-free, abundant in every possible need and [we've had] by far the most beautiful of bike rides!"
(the Reads, Hardies & Pletchers, California, May 2005)

The best possible welcome, super accommodation - and everything in Oupia and the surrounding countryside is just perfect. Long, lazy days, glorious weather; it's very hard to tear ourselves away. Although this is our third visit, there's still masses to see and do - and lots to save for next year.
(the Hewitts, U.K., June 2005)

Lou Recantou has been in our dreams since we first stayed three years ago, and it remains as magical as it was at the first visit. (Katie, Eric and Tessa, U.S.A., October 2005)

...I've found the most wonderful combination of scenery, friendliness from those who live here, excellent restaurant food at reasonable prices, and most of all, the cheerful and welcoming hospitality of Susan and Tim! So many things that are sometimes forgotten for one's comfort in a ‘gîte’, are in abundance here... (G. Earley, Canada, March/April 2004)

Bliss. A week stolen from winter, a beautiful - and warm - cottage; peace and tranquility.....
(the Ridleys, U.K., March 2002)

Staying put and riding when we wanted was far more restful and just as much of an adventure for us [as a bike tour]. We enjoyed so many simple things; the birds, walking up the Route de Mailhac and just sitting by the pool... Susan and Tim provided everything imaginable, even good cycling routes. (Ann and Rick, U.S.A, May 2002)

Our stay was simply wonderful. The gîte excellent. Our only regret is that our visit was too short.
(Tom, Heather, Bill, Wendy, Mary Jane and Richard, Canada, June/July 2002)

This place is fit for a queen! We all enjoyed the two weeks we spent and never got tired of being lazy. (Leah, aged 10, U.K., July 2002)
We were here with the Grainge family and felt like we were living in our own little piece of France. A better base from which to explore the area couldn't be found. (the Pattinsons)

A wonderful gîte, very well equipped and fitted out (better than home!). The pool is a perfect size, especially for children... (Williams-Day family, U.K., July/August, 2002)

...We went to Carcassonne castle which was brill. The little lizards were nice...Susan and Tim were very kind. We had a wonderful time and it is a pity we had to leave. (Jenny, aged 8, England, August 2002)

What a treasure this small village, this airy, welcoming gîte is and especially these gracious, helpful owners are. Of the many tips re points of interest, restaurants to try, walking, biking, hiking trails, not one tip was misguided...
(Rosemary, Elaine, Stephany and Esther, Canada, September 2002)

...The gîte surpassed all our expectations. Everything was wonderful. We ... were amazed at the changes in scenery from area to area. ...You need at least 3 weeks here. The weather, food, scenery, gîte were all 5 star ... (Evelyne and Bob Williams, Canada, October/November 2002)

Many thanks to Susan and Tim for making this family feel so warmly welcomed. Thank you for all of the suggestions and the splendid Château d'Oupia wine. Your gîte is wonderful - the best-equipped and loveliest we have ever stayed in. (the Hersheys, Germany, April 2001)

...an absolutely delightful week. We felt completely at home and lacked for nothing. The renovations have been lovingly done... We were up early every morning and off to explore yet another winery, 12th century abbey, cathedral or Roman ruin. Markets are fabulous and plentiful... Tim and Susan have an abundance of information, ideas and reading material and are ready to help with anything you might need. (Bruce, Charles, Kinmond, Tanya, Susan, Canada, April/May, 2001)

The best gîte we have ever stayed in. Fantastic cycling, food and wine... A week was far too short - a month would be preferable. The bike riding was superb...a lovely holiday. (the Mussons, U.K., May 2001)

We have had a wonderful week cycling through vineyards, across hills and down deserted lanes. The air has been heavy with the perfume of honeysuckle, broom, thyme and rosemary ... The bikes are superb! We have been captivated by the wildflowers and wildlife. (the Davies, U.K., May 2001)

Lou Recantou is the benchmark by which all gîtes should be measured - all the amenities, perfect location and hosts who obviously love what they're doing. (the Brubakers, Germany, June 2001)

...We've hardly needed to stray from the side of the pool; the gîte is so well-equipped and comfortable, the weather has been fantastic..... Oupia itself is delightful, and the perfect base for sea, mountains and Canal. Everyone we have met has been friendly and patient with our attempts at the language. (the Russells, U.K., July/August, 2001)

In our 10 years of visiting France, Lou Recantou is the best equipped and most comfortable gîte we have ever stayed in... The setting is tranquil and relaxing - a perfect place to unwind and indulge in what the local villages and caves (wineries) have to offer. (the Clowes and McDonalds, U.K., August, 2001)

This is our fifteenth gîte in France and by far the best in cleanliness, equipment, location, welcome and quality of accommodation. There is always something fresh to see without covering the same path twice. (the Wilbys, U.K., June 2001)
